This year marks an exciting time for Research Medical Center! In 2011, we will celebrate our 125th anniversary, commemorating more than a century of providing exceptional healthcare to our community.
From its earliest days, Research Medical Center has prided itself on delivering advanced, high-quality medicine and personalized, compassionate care. This powerful combination means that you and your loved ones have easy access to one of the finest resources in the area and to services unavailable elsewhere in the region.
Our Centers of Excellence
Midwest Cancer Care is renowned for offering some of the most progressive cancer services in the region, including MammoSite® and high-dose rate brachytherapy – technologies that target cancer cells, limit the radiation exposure of healthy tissue, and offer faster treatment and recovery times. We also have the area’s only Gamma Knife® treatment for brain tumors.
With cutting-edge medicine, access to research trials and multi-disciplinary expertise, The Liver and Pancreas Institute offers hope to those who thought they were beyond treatment options. Similarly, The Center for Tarlov Cysts provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for patient education, diagnosis, and definitive Tarlov cyst and meningeal cyst treatment. We have treated numerous patients with different forms and numbers of Tarlov cysts, and are in a unique position to offer hope for even the most complicated cases.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Thoracic Clinic has a multi-specialty team of lung disease and lung cancer specialists to offer fast diagnosis and effective treatment options.
Through Midwest Heart Care and the Midwest Neuroscience Institute, Research has been recognized with Get With the Guidelines™ Gold awards for both heart and stroke care. The hospital is also the first Joint Commission-certified Advanced Heart Failure Center in Kansas and Missouri.
Every day, the physicians and staff of Research Medical Center work to find better, more innovative ways to care for our patients. This commitment ensures that even as we celebrate our heritage today, we are always focused on the best medicine for tomorrow.
