WHO: Rockhill Greens Community of Research Medical Center – Brookside Campus
WHAT: Groundbreaking ceremony for Rockhill Greens, a community that will include residential housing and commercial businesses seamlessly integrated into the existing Research Brookside Campus. The new development will promote a healthy living lifestyle and sustainable design with parks, gardens and walking trails throughout the residential and commercial campus.
WHEN: 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 Light Breakfast: 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. Introductions/Speakers, including HCA Midwest Health System President Mel Lagarde, Research Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Kevin J. Hicks and City Council members: 9:15 – 9:45 a.m. Groundbreaking: 10 a.m.
WHERE: Research Brookside Campus, Parking Lot A, 6601 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64131
WHY: Development begins on 13 under-utilized acres at the Research Brookside Campus. Possible projects being proposed for the new community include assisted living and independent-living senior housing, adult day care and memory care facilities, data center/back office operations, market-rate townhouses or workforce housing, healthy-living themed retail such as restaurants, coffee shops, organic grocery stores, health club, and other commercial uses that embrace socially and environmentally responsible growth.
Research Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network, continues to reinvest in the outpatient and emergency services offered at the Research Brookside Campus, reinforcing its commitment to providing a broad spectrum of healthcare services to the surrounding community.
