Research Medical Center Wins HSLNKC Award

The Carl R. Ferris Medical Library, Research Medical Center received the award for “Outstanding Health Science Library” of 2012 from the Health Sciences Library Network of Kansas City (HSLNKC), for providing valuable information services and resources to its institution.

The library received praise for its website, service to patrons, the support it provides for educational programs, its membership committee participation, and specifically for being an “invaluable resource for evidence-based medicine…”

The award was presented to Kitty Serling, MLS, Medical Librarian at the ninth annual HSLNKC Awards and Recognition Ceremony held Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Quintiles, Inc.

HSLNKC awards are given every January to libraries providing outstanding service to their institutions. Awards were presented in five categories: “Outstanding One-Person Health Science Library,” “Outstanding Academic Health Science Library,” “Outstanding Outreach Efforts”, “Excellent Return on Investment” and “Outstanding Health Science Library.”

Other libraries receiving awards were the Ruth R. Cleveland Memorial Library of Cleveland Chiropractic College, The Medical-Dental Library of Truman Medical Center at Lakewood, The Health Sciences Library at Olathe Health System, and the North Kansas City Hospital Medical Library.
