Research Medical Center offers a premier hand referral Center in the Kansas City region for the treatment of both acute hand injuries and elective conditions. The Center offers:
- 24/7 coverage
- Physician to physician consultation
- Toll-free Transfer Center Hotline
- Rehabilitation care provided at either the Research Medical Center Brookside Campus or in the patient’s local community
Treatment for the following injuries and conditions:
- Hand pain
- Fractures of the fingers and hand
- Tendon and ligament injuries
- Extensive lacerations or crush injuries
- Nailbed injuries
- Carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Joint replacement
- Burn repair, skin grafts and reconstruction
A Team of Specialists
Under the medical direction of Vik P. Zadoo, MD, FACS, the Hand Center team of specialists will be able to perform elective surgeries and surgery for traumatic hand and upper extremity injuries. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and former attending plastic surgeon with the United States Army. Dr. Zadoo is trained in hand and microvascular surgery from the Christine Kleinart Institute in Louisville. The Midwest Hand Center team includes:
