Memory Loss Clinic at Research Medical Center

The Memory Loss Clinic at Research Medical Center offers patients and their physicians a comprehensive program to diagnose and treat Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Under the medical direction of Lynn Lyon, MD, the Memory Loss Clinic provides neuropsychiatric testing for, diagnosis of and education about the condition of your or your loved one’s memory loss.

Successful Treatment

We will develop a treatment plan to get the greatest benefit from advanced techniques and options throughout the field. Family members, as well as the primary care physician, are important parts of the success of the treatment. Dr. Lyon will work with your family and physician to develop a treatment plan designed especially for your needs.

What to Expect During Your Visit

On your visit to the Memory Loss Clinic, Dr. Lyon will order any tests that you may need and will provide a consultation. A follow-up visit will be scheduled for two weeks later to review your test results and determine your plan of care. If medications are prescribed, a third follow-up visit will be scheduled.

Lynn Lyon, MD  |  Profile
Dr. Lyon obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed his internship at the University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle, Washington and completed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Dr. Lyon has extensive professional experience including military service with the US Army as part of the neurology staff at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, DC. He has held various educational positions and has served as the Chief of Neurology Service for the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Lyon was the Medical Director for the Memory Clinic & Dementia Evaluation Program in Kansas City, Missouri for over 20 years. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology.
