Diabetes Care

Research Medical Center in Kansas City has partnered with Harmon Diabetes Center to provide diabetes treatment and care for patients.

The Harmon Diabetes Center, founded in 1987, was one of the area’s first diabetes education programs. On October 1, 2004, the Center became a program of The Research Foundation, a local non-profit organization committed to enhancing health for the Greater Kansas City community. Harmon Diabetes Center honors the Harmon family and their generous support of The Research Foundation.

The Harmon Diabetes Center has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management education since 1999. Approximately 700 patients are seen each year through the center, where they learn about diabetes treatment, meal planning, physical activity, blood sugar monitoring, medicine options, how to reduce risks and learn lifetime self-management skills.
